Many Arts and Crafts have been lost over time because they can't survive only from the hands of those who make them, but also from those who appreciate them.
Today we're blessed to continue our family heritage. But more than that: the legacy of Portugal. Giving continuity to an ancestral art with all ethical and sustainable commitments associated, never before achieved. We believe that the only way to keep the Arts and Crafts alive is to deliver contemporary pieces directly from the Craftsman's hands to yours.
Esperança Vitória, ArtisanSince the age of 5, I have been working in this art without ever receiving a penny. I made a lot of baskets like those you can still find today on fairs for sale by retailers, and a lot even in stores. The biggest pity I have is to know that whoever made all those pieces, never received worthily for them. I made Victoria handmade a turning point in this market. And I regret those who have not been able to do so before.
Carla Maria, ArtisanFor some reason I gave up on this art at the first opportunity. No one had ever been able to guarantee worker rights in this Art, or support the family just by working on it. How could I be the first? I have calluses on my hands that are still from my childhood, of my fingers intertwining between the reed and jute on the loom. Even after being away for 20 years, they are still here. Today with great pride.
